Clean Water Restoration Act Threatening Private Property Rights

 

A Senate Committee is set to mark up a bill that would significantly expand federal jurisdiction over private farms and ranches. The Clean Water Restoration Act, introduced by Senator Russ Feingold from Wisconsin, is causing concern for many private property owners, particularly those in the agriculture community. Tamara Thies, chief environmental counsel for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association explains:

According to Thies, the current Clean Water Act is working.

Thies call the bill an infringement on Americans’ private property rights and urges the public to call their Senators and ask them to defeat this bill.
