CATTLEMEN TO PARTICIPATE AND INNOVATE IN CHARLOTTE

DENVER (Oct. 7, 1998) – Cattlemen will chart the future of the American beef industry when they convene Feb. 10-14, 1999 in Charlotte, N.C., for the 1999 Cattle Industry Convention and Trade Show.

Convention attendees will participate in a full slate of industry meetings and educational seminars, enjoy fellowship with other beef business men and women, visit the extensive industry Trade Show and relax with a few of the country’s top entertainers and inspirational speakers.

Country music superstar Tanya Tucker will perform at the Convention’s Grand Finale Evening Event. Tucker has been burning up the music charts since her first hit, "Delta Dawn" at age 13. She had a "Greatest Hits" album by age 15, and her top-ten single "Little Things" from her recent thirtieth record is proof that Tucker hasn’t slowed down a bit.

Tickets for the evening event include a pre-event reception, full course beef dinner, country music concert featuring Tucker and a dance band following.

Another highlight of the Cattle Industry Convention is the Inspirational Breakfast with motivational speaker Rocky Bleier. Bleier, legendary member of the four-time World Champion Pittsburgh Steelers, is one of America’s most courageous sportsmen. Wounded in Vietnam and not expected to walk again, he fought overwhelming odds to become one of the NFL’s premier running backs. Bleier’s speeches motivate audiences to keep striving for greater accomplishments.

The Charlotte Convention Center will host the beef industry event, which is expected to draw a crowd of 6,500. Mild winter temperatures in the mid-50s will greet Convention-goers in Charlotte, which is located in south central North Carolina, just two hours’ drive from either the Atlantic Coast or the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Registration and hotel information is available through the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NBCA) Convention and Meetings Department, 303-694-0305. Registration fees range from $155 for NCBA members to $215 for non-members. Discounted fees are available for students, spouses, and one and two-day registrations. Trade Show admission is free to convention registrants. Visitors may also register on-site for the Trade Show for a one-day admittance fee of $25.

Watch for more information and the registration brochure in the October 30 issue of the Beef Business Bulletin.
