CATTLEMEN TO WORK ON BOLD INITIATIVES AND NEW SOLUTIONS IN PHOENIX

DENVER (October 18, 1999) – Cattle producers from across the country will help guide the largest segment of U.S. agriculture into the next century when they gather for the 2000 Cattle Industry Convention and Trade Show in Phoenix, Ariz., Jan.26-29, 2000.

Addressing the needs of a diverse industry, attendees will help create "Bold Initiatives for New Solutions," whether they involve a successful year in Congress, development of powerful consumer marketing programs combining convenience and nutrition messages, world-wide exposure to the health benefits of eating lean beef, or other key issues.

In addition to committee meetings, educational seminars and general sessions, the Convention will include the business meetings of the National Cattlemen's Beef Association (NCBA), the Cattlemen's Beef Promotion and Research Board and the American National CattleWomen (ANCW).  Convention attendees will also enjoy fellowship with other beef business men and women, visit an extensive industry Trade Show and relax with a few of the country's top entertainers and inspirational speakers.  In addition, Cattle-Fax will present a market outlook for the coming year.

Through policy and beef checkoff committee meetings, producers will discuss and make decisions that shape the marketing, education, research, advertising, and legislative issues affecting their businesses.

Country music star Louise Mandrell will provide entertainment at the Grand Finale Evening Event, which  includes a reception, meal, concert and a country music dance.
