Cattlemen’s College® Kicks off 2010 Cattle Industry Convention
and NCBA Trade Show
Education was the first order of business at the cattle industry’s largest annual event
San antonio (Jan. 28, 2010)—More than 800 cattle producers gathered from around the nation to take advantage of the educational opportunities being provided at the 17th annual Cattlemen’s College ® at the 2010 Cattle Industry Convention and NCBA Trade Show. The event, which is sponsored by Pfizer Animal Health, featured speakers and sessions covering every phase of the beef industry.
Yesterday’s event included 15 forums featuring topics such as Political Climate Change and the Beef Business to Profitable Forage Management Strategies. The program concluded with panel discussions that gave attendees a chance to interact with the speakers while they enjoyed a lunch that featured Certified Angus Beef entrees.
“I don’t know of another educational program for cattle ranchers and farmers that covers topics so diverse,” said Tom Field, Ph.D., executive director of producer education for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA). “During Cattlemen’s College ® producers not only have an opportunity to hear from some of the leading experts in topics that impact their cattle businesses every day, but they also have the chance to interact with those experts and ask questions.”
For those who were unable to attend the sessions, watch for coverage in the next edition of National Cattlemen magazine. Summaries of the presentations will also be posted at the Cattle Industry Learning Center at www.cattlelearningcenter.org.
