Cookbook Draws from South Dakota’s Celebs

Leave it to tireless beef promoter Bob Montross of De Smet, S.D., to mine that state’s personalities to help him promote beef.  Montross’ latest effort to promote beef is the “First Ladies Edition” beef cookbook.  The recipe filler draws from all the living first ladies of South Dakota, as well as former first lady Barbara Bush.

And in keeping with the political climate, Tom Daschele has a recipe, as do U.S. Senate candidates Tim Johnson and John Thune.

In addition to the recipes, there are brief biographical sketches of the contributors, almost all of whom have South Dakota ties.  Many have become household names due to their work in the entertainment industry, professional sports, politics and the like.
