Dec 2, 2004 Johanns Nomination for Ag Secretary Bodes Well : McAdam

Jim McAdams, a Texas rancher and NCBA president-elect, is encouraged by President Bush’s nomination of Nebraska governor Mike Johanns to be the next Secretary of Agriculture.

McAdams cited Johanns’ work to expand export markets during his time as Nebraska’s governor as particularly good news for producers.

McAdams also emphasized the importance of animal health and food safety to the cattle industry, and feels that Johanns will meet the challenges faced by USDA on these issues.
