Denver to Host 2002 Cattle Industry Convention and Trade Show

DENVER, Colo. (Oct. 5, 2001) – Beef producers across the country are being encouraged to “Ride for the Brand” and take the reins of their industry by participating in the 2002 Cattle Industry Convention and Trade Show in Denver, Colo., Feb. 6-9.

The “Ride for the Brand” theme represents the combined effort of beef producers who belong to numerous organizations to create a stronger, more unified and aggressive industry. Annual meetings of the Cattlemen’s Beef Promotion & Research Board, the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, the American National CattleWomen, Inc. and Cattle-Fax will be held at the event.

About 5,500 people from all over the U.S. are expected to attend the February Convention and Trade Show. It will feature not just meetings of the respective organizations, but educational programs and entertainment to provide opportunities for professional growth and broadening social contacts.

For instance, the always-popular “Cattlemen’s College,” sponsored by Pfizer Animal Health, will give producers ideas for creative and profitable ways of improving their operations. In addition, more than 300 exhibitors will be showing their services and products at the annual NCBA Trade Show.

A pre-convention agricultural tour will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 5, hosted by the Colorado Livestock Association, Colorado Cattlemen’s Association and the Colorado Beef Council. Among the tour stops will be Colorado State University’s new Agriculture Research Development Education Center, and the Anheuser-Busch Brewery. The tour will be preceded by a reception and dinner for attendees the previous evening.

Pre-registration and hotel information for the 2001 Cattle Industry Annual Convention and Trade Show will be available October 26 through the NCBA Convention and Meetings Department, 303/694-0305.
