Fri., Aug 30 02 - R&D Ranch Provides A School For Those Who Move Beef

Suggested Lead:

The beef industry’s R&D Ranch provides a school for processors, retailers and others who help get beef products into the hands of consumers, according to Lee Hall. Hall, a beef producer from Lexington, Kentucky, is chairman of the Joint New Product & Culinary Initiatives Committee. He says the program, funded by the $1-per-head beef checkoff, is multi-faceted.

Hall says the R&D Ranch is designed to meet the needs of its students.

According to Hall, the R&D Ranch team also travels throughout the country to reach more people with their programs.

The national beef checkoff is managed by the Cattlemen’s Beef Board – volunteers appointed by the Secretary of Agriculture.
