Hurricane Relief Efforts

NCBA is coordinating a massive relief effort on behalf of its members and, state and national partners to help cattlemen around the country assist the farming and ranching families in need during this tragic time.  NCBA is working in cooperation with its state affiliate staff in the impacted states of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama to facilitate this relief effort.  NCBA set up a Disaster Relief Fund through its National Cattlemen’s Foundation during the 2004 hurricane season.  Below is a summary of what is being done and what is still needed.

    What is Needed

Fencing and rebuilding supplies are of critical importance first, and then producers will continue to rebuild barns and other structures needed.  The outpouring of support has been tremendous and very much appreciated.  Supplies, hay and feed that have been donated are already being put to us.  The impacted states are working up programs to distribute contributed monies at the local level so producers can purchase what is needed to continue to rebuild… they ask anyone interested in making contributions please do so to one of the foundations listed below.
