Innovators Nominated for the No Boundaries Beef Industry Vision Award
Seven innovators from around the country have been nominated for the beef industry’s annual Vision Award, sponsored by Ford Motor Company and the National Cattlemen’s Foundation. The national winner of the 2003 Vision Award will be named at the 2003 Cattle Industry Convention and Trade Show in Nashville, Tenn., Jan. 29 - Feb. 1, 2003.
“This award has been established to recognize innovative individuals in the beef industry who have excelled in implementing visionary business management practices,” said Foundation Chairman Don Butler. “These are the people who are looking five years into the future and being visionary.”
The 2003 Vision Award recognizes beef industry leaders who take innovative steps to make their operation more profitable and efficient. Nominees for the 2003 Award were evaluated primarily on the basis of effective use of available production technology; impact on the cost of production; ingenuity in implementation; successful and innovative marketing; benefit and impact on beef industry; and optimum resource management. The seven regional winners will each name an NCBA affiliate to receive a $500 cash award.
The winners are:
Region I - Eugene Gagliardi, Pennsylvania.
Region II -Willard Sparks, Tennessee
Region III - Marvin Walter, Iowa
Region IV - Minnie and Mary Lou Bradley, Texas
Region V - Roy Moore, Colorado
Region VI – David Wood, California
Region VII – Bill Buckner, Kansas
