The Beef Checkoff Program has a new partner for marketing beef. Boston Market, already well-known for its rotisserie chicken, has introduced a 5-ounce and 8-ounce sirloin steak entrée, as well as two new sandwiches featuring sirloin. Eddy Wittry of Boston Market says sirloin is a great addition to the Boston Market lineup.

Cut #1    :18       Outcue: "...really a clear winner."

Wittry says the new items will appeal to customers in terms of flavor as well as nutrition.

Cut #2    :26       Outcue: "...sixteen grams of fat."

He added that Americans can be counted on to make a beef a frequent selection when dining out.

Cut #3    :13       Outcue: "...to fill that taste."

Wittry said the partnership with the Beef Checkoff Program and the familiar beef check logo has great appeal for Boston Market, and its customers.

Cut #4    :15       Outcue: "...statement of quality."

The national Beef Checkoff Program is administered by the Cattlemen’s Beef Promotion and Research Board, a group of 108 beef producers appointed by the Secretary of Agriculture.  They represent producers from coast-to-coast and volunteer their time to help identify programs that can help increase beef demand.  The checkoff was created in the 1985 Farm Bill, with oversight provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The checkoff assesses $1 per head on the sale of live domestic and imported cattle and a comparable assessment on imported beef and beef products. States retain up to 50 cents on the dollar and forward the other 50 cents to the Cattlemen’s Beef Board, which administers the national checkoff program, subject to USDA

approval.
