The 16th Annual Beef Quality Assurance Seminar is scheduled for June 8-9 in Kansas City, where state quality assurance coordinators and other beef industry leaders have a busy agenda planned. As Dr. Dee Griffin, a beef cattle management veterinarian with the University of Nebraska, explains, the recent Beef Quality Audit will be a key topic of discussion.

Griffin says the Beef Quality Audit is a critical tool for ensuring the beef industry is doing the best job possible of meeting the needs of consumers and retailers.

Animal identification will also be on the group’s agenda. Oklahoma veterinarian Dr. Bob Smith, a board member of the United States Animal Identification Organization, will speak on the progress being made on a national system, and how to address producer questions and concerns.
