KOKES NAMED NCBA VICE PRESIDENT OF ASSOCIATION SERVICES

DENVER (August 24, 1998) - National Cattlemen's Beef Association (NCBA) chief executive officer Chuck Schroeder has named Marvin Kokes as vice president of association services. Kokes replaces John Butler who resigned in July to pursue other career opportunities within the beef industry.

Operating out of NCBA's Denver office, Kokes is now responsible for overseeing one of five management star points of the national association. In his new role, Kokes will manage all of NCBA's state and affiliate services, as well as membership and business development. Association marketing, allied industry, and convention and meeting functions will also be under his direction.

"Marvin has demonstrated outstanding ability and the necessary leadership skills required to fulfill his duties as vice president of association services," Schroeder states. "His hard work will lead to stronger ties between state affiliates and councils, allied industry groups, and an overall more cohesive national organization."

Kokes grew up in northeastern Colorado on a family-owned cow/calf and dry-land wheat farm and graduated with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Colorado State University. Before joining NCBA (formerly the National Cattlemen's Association) in 1992 as the director of membership and business development, Kokes worked as a field representative and loan officer for the Production Credit Association in Monte Vista, CO and also at the Greeley, CO Farm Credit Services office.
