Mike Milicevic Elected as Southeast Director to CattleFax Board of Directors

DENVER (March 18, 2009) - Mike Milicevic of Okeechobee, Fla. has been elected as the new Southeast Director of CattleFax, a member-owned and member-directed cattle market information and research organization.

Milicevic is General Manager of Lykes Ranch Division, Lykes Bros. Inc.  He has been employed with Lykes Bros. since December 1986.  Milicevic is responsible for overall management of the operations for cattle, sugar cane, forestry, turf and landscape divisions.

Milicevic graduated in 1984 from Texas A&M University with a Master’s degree in Agriculture-Feedlot Management.  He received his Bachelors’ degree of Science-Agronomy at the University of Florida in 1982 and attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College from 1978-1980.

Milicevic has served as chairman on numerous committees including:  NCBA/PAC Committee (2004-2006), Florida Cattlemen’s Foundation, Inc. (2005-2006) and the FCA Environmental/Private Lands Committee.  He has also held the position of President of the Florida Cattlemen’s Association (2004-2005), and is currently Vice President and board member of Florida Agricultural Council, Inc.  In addition, Milicevic is a member of Highlands Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees; NCBA Environmental Committee as well as a new Director for CattleFax.

Milicevic has been recognized by the industry with awards including: 

·         2009 Beef Industry Vision Award (Cow/Calf) sponsored by Micro Beef Technologies and National Cattlemen’s Foundation;

·         National winner of Beef Magazine’s 2008 Trailblazer Award;

·         Outstanding Cattleman 2006, Alachua County Lions Club;

·         2004 Outstanding Agriculturalist by Association of County Agricultural Agents;

·         2003 Reach Out Award by the Florida Cattlemen’s Association.
