Mon., Dec 30 02 -- Think Before you Change the Quarterback

Suggested Lead:

International marketing in beef continues to be a major topic of discussion in the beef industry. Nebraska cattle producer Harry Knobbe (kuh-NO-bee) thinks opinions on what organizations are doing about it should be formed only after some historical research has been done.

Cut #1    :21       Outcue: "...all the time."

According to Knobbe, the approach can be thought of in football terms.

Cut #2    :18       Outcue: "...were 20 years ago."

Knobbe makes presentations on the industry all across the United States on behalf of himself, the beef checkoff and the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. But his involvement begins at home.

Cut #3    :22       Outcue: "...Knobbe of NCBA."

According to Knobbe, being part of the process is all-important.

Cut #4    :22       Outcue: "...voters that controlled it."

A beef producer from West Point, Neb., Knobbe says he believes strongly in working within the community to make the community stronger, and in being part of efforts that are larger than ones self.
