NATIONAL BEEF AMBASSADOR COMPETITION MOVES TO TEXAS

DENVER (September 15, 2005)  - The National Beef Ambassador Competition slated for November 3-5 in Louisiana, has been relocated to Austin, Texas, at the Hilton Austin Airport Hotel.

The Texas CattleWomen came to the aid of the National Beef Ambassador Program and the Louisiana CattleWomen, offering to host the competition in response to Louisiana’s state of emergency due to Hurricane Katrina.

American National CattleWomen (ANCW) will work closely with Texas CattleWomen during the next several weeks to finalize the National Beef Ambassador Competition program for contestants and their guests. The schedule will remain largely the same, with minor changes regarding area tours around Austin.

The hotel is located at 9515 New Airport Drive in Austin. Reservations can be made by calling the Hilton Austin Airport Hotel at 512-385-6767 or toll free at 800-584-5091 and asking for the National Beef Ambassador Program room block. Standard room rate is $89.00 (1-4 adults) plus sleeping room tax of 15%. The hotel cutoff date has been extended to October 26.  If you made an airline reservation to New Orleans, please call your travel agent to change your reservation to Austin, Texas, as your destination city.

An updated NBAP schedule and additional information will be enclosed in the confirmation packets that will be mailed in the near future.  For questions, contact Carol Abrahamzon at cabrahamzon@beef.org or 507-724-3905.
