NCBA Cattleman to Participate in President’s Economic Forum

Mike John, a beef producer from Huntsville, Mo., will represent the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) at The President’s Economic Forum at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, today.  John is one of more than 200 industry experts, small business owners, business ethicists, unions, corporate executives, economists, government decision makers and small investors participating in the event.

Those participating in the forum will discuss how the current economy is performing and the steps needed to foster sustained economic growth for the future.  In addition, the President’s aggressive agenda to help sustain the economic recovery, foster long-term prosperity and usher in a new era of integrity of American business will be addressed.

Multiple breakout and discussion sessions on key economic issues will be featured, including corporate responsibility, job creation, trade and agriculture, and small investors.

“We’re pleased to be invited to participate in this important forum,” said John.  “The cattle industry is a very important part of the nation’s economic health and has long supported the President’s belief in economic freedom as the foundation for individual success and prosperity.  Cattlemen can bring some unique ideas and concerns from a grassroots perspective to Tuesday’s discussion.”

John was raised and still lives on his family’s 400-head commercial cow-calf operation.  He is Beef Marketing Manager for MFA Incorporated’s Health Track beef Alliance, a program that identifies and properly conditions calves to meet the demands of cattle buyers.

John, a member of the beef industry’s Brand-Like Commission and former chairman of the NCBA Membership Committee, is a past president of the Missouri Cattlemen’s Association and the Missouri Beef Industry Council.  He also currently is on the U.S. Meat Export Federation Board of Directors.
