NCBA Chief Economist Lambert Heading to USDA
NCBA Chief Economist Chuck Lambert has been appointed the Deputy Under Secretary of Marketing and Regulatory Services for USDA. USDA Secretary Ann Veneman made the appointment Thursday. He will help manage the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service and the Grain Inspection Packers and Stockyards Administration. Lambert begins his new duties Dec. 2.
Lambert served NCBA and one of its predecessor organizations for 15 years, working on trade and economic issues. In more recent years, he took a lead role in issues such as Trade Promotion Authority, granting China Permanent Normal Trade Relations and supplying industry input to the government as it prepared for World Trade Organization talks.
