NCBA PROGRAMS AND STAFF RECOGNIZED AT NAMA AWARDS

DENVER (April 17, 2009)For the second year in a row, NCBA's Cattlemen to Cattlemen was the winner of a first place award at the National Agri-Marketing Association’s “Best of NAMA” awards ceremony held April 15 in Atlanta. Produced by the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, the weekly television program featuring cattle industry news, market information, producer education segments and cattle producer profiles again captured the top honor in NAMA’s Broadcast News category.

NCBA’s Cattlemen to Cattlemen has become an important communications vehicle for both NCBA and for the beef industry as a whole. The show is an excellent resource for cattlemen when it comes to getting the latest industry news and educational information,” said NCBA Chief Executive Officer Forrest Roberts. “We’re thrilled that the program was recognized for a second time by NAMA for its outstanding content and quality.”

NCBA’s Cattlemen to Cattlemen premiered in February 2007 on RFD-TV. It airs every Tuesday at 8:30 p.m., with repeat episodes on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and Saturdays at 9 a.m. It is also available online at www.CattlementoCattlemen.org. The program’s sponsors include Purina Mills, Fort Dodge Animal Health, Dow AgroSciences, Bayer Animal Health, McDonalds, John Deere and Igenity.

Also recognized at the “Best of NAMA” awards was the innovative “Menu Destinations Ad Campaign,” funded by the Beef Checkoff. The advertisement was awarded first place in the Trade Ads category.

NAMA also recognized NCBA vice president of corporate relations Marvin Kokes with this organization’s Horizon Award. Kokes was honored for his leadership and volunteer service for his work on the NAMA Board of Directors, Careers Committee and service revitalizing the Rocky Mountain NAMA Chapter as president. Kokes, who has been a NAMA member for more than 15 years, also serves as a student mentor and judge for the NAMA national collegiate marketing contest.
