NCBA Statement Regarding Chandler Keys

"After dedicating 20 years of service to the National Cattlemen's Beef Association, I must reluctantly announce that Chandler Keys, Vice President of Government Affairs, will be leaving NCBA to pursue new endeavors.

"Chandler is a leader in the beef industry and recognized as one of the most prestigious and knowledgeable lobbyist inside the beltway. He began his career in November of 1984 as a junior lobbyist with the National Cattlemen’s Association, and was named Vice President of Government Affairs in 1996. Because of this leadership, NCBA has the most respected and effective lobbying team in Washington serving our members and the beef industry.

"This November, Chandler decided to accept a position as Senior Vice President of Government and Industry Affairs with Swift & Company. He will continue with NCBA until December 31, 2004, and assume his new position after the first of the year.

"The NCBA officers and I are most appreciative of Chandler’s leadership and service to NCBA and the beef industry. He is a strong leader on our management team, and a close friend. Personally, I will miss him greatly. We wish him the best with his new opportunity, and hope that you will join us in sharing your appreciation for his dedicated and unwavering service to the National Cattlemen's Beef Association.

"Chandler’s boots will be tough to fill, but the NCBA officers and I are certain that we will find an ideal replacement to serve in this most important role for our government affairs office. Chandler’s legacy has set the standards, and the policy team will be looking forward to working with the new NCBA VP, the new Congress, and a new Presidential term in the year 2005."
