Nov. 5, 2003 - Border Closure Just One Factor in Good Cattle Market: Blach

Suggested Lead:

When the border was closed to Canadian cattle and beef this spring it had an impact on the market for U.S. cattle.  But that wasn’t a turning point, as Randy Blach (Block), executive vice president of Cattle-Fax, explains.

Cut #1    :15       Outcue: "...had in the futures market."

Blach thinks the Canadian border helped fuel the rise.

Cut #2    :27       Outcue: "...on prior to then."

According to Blach, the U.S. northern border shouldn’t be evaluated on its own.

Cut #3    :31       Outcue: "...U.S. beef in history."

Colorado-based Cattle-Fax is the cattle industry’s leading information and analysis service.
