Oct. 13, 2004 - Beef Booth at Conference a Hit with Nutrition Professionals
A beef checkoff-funded booth at the American Dietetic Association Conference in Anaheim, California, last week was a huge hit with nutrition professionals there. Mary Young, executive director of nutrition for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, says there’s good reason for putting so much emphasis on this event.
Cut #1 :35 Outcue: "...had thought in the past."
The beef industry needs to be involved with these kinds of events, Young says, in part because of the good reputation it has established with this audience.
Cut #2 :34 Outcue: "...new from us as well."
Decades of involvement with dietitians at their conference gives the beef industry a history that’s hard to beat.
Cut #3 :29 Outcue: "...its nutritional profile."
Along with its booth, the beef checkoff funded educational sessions for nutrition professionals and meeting and meal functions for the attendees. The National Beef Checkoff Program is administered by the Cattlemen’s Beef Board, a group of 108 beef producers from across the country, and was created in the 1985 Farm Bill. Oversight is provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
