PUBLICATION OUTLINES KEY PROGRAMS TO BOOST BEEF DEMAND
DENVER, CO (August 2, 2000) – Beef demand is growing in the U.S. and around the world, and this country’s beef producers are helping make it possible. Their efforts over the past year through the $1-per-head beef checkoff are outlined in “Smart Money 2000:The Whole Story Behind the Beef Checkoff,” produced by the Cattlemen’s Beef Promotion and Research Board.
The 16-page booklet reviews key programs being conducted at the state, national and international levels. It also describes how the checkoff works and the coordinated efforts to make it as effective and efficient as possible.
“Producers have many reasons to feel good about what we’re doing to address consumer demand,” Beef Board Chairman Les McNeill says in a letter to producers. “I know checkoff programs influence the future of our industry.”
In the report are the contact names, addresses, phone numbers and e-mails for the 45 qualified state beef councils, the Beef Board and major contractors.
