Penn State University Students Win 2005 NCF Beef Quiz Bowl
DENVER (February 9, 2005) -- Penn State University was named the national winner of the 2005 National Cattlemen’s Foundation (NCF) National Collegiate Beef Quiz Bowl on February 4 in San Antonio, Texas. Teams earned the privilege of competing at the Cattle Industry Annual Convention and Trade Show in San Antonio by winning their sectional competition of the American Society of Animal Science Academic Quadrathalon.
Other teams competing in this year’s event were North Dakota State University, Utah State University. The National Collegiate Beef Quiz Bowl is a National Cattlemen’s Foundation program. NCF serves the beef industry as a charitable institution that has as its mission to promote the future of the beef industry through research and education. The Quiz Bowl continues to develop future leaders by engaging them in competition and presenting the contestants with the opportunity to be a part of the Cattle Industry Annual Convention.
The members of this year’s winning team are: Emily Cloninger, Katherine Logan, Megan Moody and Burke Neely. Their advisor is Dr. Daniel Kniffen.
