Sat., Aug 30 03 -- Restaurant Association Exec Sees Value in Beef Seminar

As president and chief operating officer of the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation, Mary Adolf has a key platform from which to view the entire food chain.  She thinks a Dallas symposium held through the beef checkoff for restaurant executives this past week was a good way for beef producers and restaurant operators to get their heads together on better ways to support beef.

Adolf grew up on a cattle ranch in Nebraska and worked for the National Live Stock and Meat Board, so knows something about the cattle industry.  She believes cattle producers benefit from this kind of dialogue.

The 2-day checkoff-funded symposium was attended by nearly 150 restaurant professionals.  It was coordinated on behalf of the Cattlemen’s Beef Board and state beef councils.  The checkoff is administered by the Cattlemen’s Beef Board, with oversight by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
