“New NCBA Council to Strengthen Voice of Young Producers: Fredenburg”

(Trent Fredenburg (FREDunburg) is a cow/calf producer from Greenfield, Ind., and a member of NCBA and the Young Producers’ Council.)

Young people will have a strengthened voice in the country’s largest cattle organization thanks to a new council created especially for them. The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Young Producers’ Council will tap into the energy, enthusiasm and interest of cattle producers ages 18 to 35 and give these producers a platform from which to gain knowledge and express their views.

Trent Fredenburg is a beef producer and YPC member from Greenfield, Indiana. He says it’s to everyone’s benefit to have this kind of group.

According to Fredenburg, organizations in agriculture often are focused on older producers, but there’s another group of producers quickly coming onto the scene.

Cut  #2:       :25        Out cue: “… global consumer market.”

Fredenburg says the Young Producers’ Council is a great way for the next generation of young people to be involved.

Cut  #3:       :18        Out cue: “…will as well.”

Membership in NCBA will qualify a young person of the appropriate age for the Young Producers’ Council. To find out more about the Young Producers’ Council and how you can become involved, go to the NCBA Web site at www.BeefUSA.org/ypc.
