The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association is very concerned about the recent ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court in Kelo vs. New London. The ruling places private property rights in jeopardy, according to NCBA CEO Terry Stokes.

Cut #1         :20         Outcue: "... through eminent domain."

Stokes says eminent domain has legitimate purposes, but should never be used by government to shift property from one private party to another.

Cut #2         :37         Outcue: "... and responsible manner."

He said this situation requires legislative solutions, and cattlemen will be front-and-center in this effort.

Cut #3         :29         Outcue: "... by eminent domain."

Stokes added that many legislators appear to be concerned about the situation, and they are showing support for private property rights.

Cut #4         :29         Outcue: "...individual property rights."
