Thurs., Aug 22 02 - New Products Team Seeks To Make Beef More Convenient

Through the $1-per-head checkoff program, the beef industry’s Joint New Product & Culinary Initiatives Committee seeks to make beef tastier and more convenient, says Lee Hall. Hall is chairman of the committee and a beef producer from Lexington, Kentucky. According to Hall, new product initiatives are helping to increase beef demand.

Hall says in the matter of convenience, beef has learned a lot from chicken.

According to Hall, the value of new product initiatives should increase as time goes on.

The national beef checkoff is administered by the Cattlemen’s Beef Promotion and Research Board, a board of 110 volunteers appointed by the Secretary of Agriculture.
