Thurs., Sep 19 02 - Beef Nutrition Message To Be Conveyed At Health Event

Through the beef checkoff, the nutritional benefits of beef will be conveyed at a Speaking of Women’s Health event in Indianapolis next week. The beef industry-sponsored Council for Women’s Nutrition Solutions, or CWNS (SEE-wins), will make the presentation, says Amarillo, Texas beef producer Jay O’Brien, chairman of the Joint Industry Nutrition and Health Committee.

According to O’Brien, the CWNS team is proficient at delivering this message.

O’Brien says health professional who attend these events are motivated by news about healthier lifestyles.

According to O’Brien, CWNS members also work closely with the American Dietetic Association, and will be participating in their annual meeting in mid-October.

The beef checkoff is overseen by the Cattlemen’ Beef Board, volunteers appointed by the Secretary of Agriculture.
