Tues., July 22 03 -- Animal ID Could Take Many Forms

There’s significant talk around livestock country about an animal identification system that might be implemented for food safety purposes.  John Maas (Moss) is a cattle producer and the extension veterinarian at the University of California Davis.  He serves on a committee that is investigating animal ID systems, and says finding the right system will be challenging.

According to Maas, who serves as chairman of the NCBA Animal Disease Research Subcommittee, says the work of this industry committee is important for the grassroots producer.
