Tues., Nov. 12 02 -- NCBA Concerned About FTA with Australia
The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association is joining with other agricultural groups to express concern about a trade agreement the administration is expected to strike with Australia later this week. According to Chuck Lambert, NCBA chief economist, skirting the WTO for this type of bilateral agreement isn’t good for the cattle industry.
Cut #1 :20 Outcue: "...other international markets."
Lambert says NCBA is leading a charge to spell out the concerns of agriculture.
Cut #2 :15 Outcue: "...no uncertain terms."
According to Lambert, the industry understands the larger ramifications of the trade agreement.
Cut #3 :35 Outcue: "...than to gain."
Lambert says the size of Australia in the beef market is significant.
Cut #4 :30 Outcue: "...the WTO negotiations."
The letter from the coalition of ag groups will be sent to the administration in the next few days.
