Wed., Jun 12 02 - Calls Needed To Help Permanently End Death Tax
Calls are needed as soon as possible today by farmers and ranchers who want to help permanently repeal the Death Tax. According to Jay Truitt (TRUE-It) of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, Senate proponents of the Death Tax surprised everyone by calling for a vote today, hoping opponents of the tax will fall short of the 60 votes needed to repeal it. The tax was repealed last fall, but not permanently, he said.
Cut #1 :15 Outcue: "...which is highly unlikely."
Truitt says people in agriculture can help end the tax for all time.
Cut #2 :14 Outcue: "...to the next generation."
According to Truitt, there is no time to lose.
Cut #3 :18 Outcue: "...do that right away."
Truitt says farmers and ranchers should ask their senators to accept nothing less than complete death for the Death Tax.
Cut #4 :37 Outcue: "...is what we need."
Again, producers can simply call the Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121 to get connected with the offices of their U.S. senators. Repeal of the Death Tax has been a top priority for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.
