"Irradiation Can be Tool in Beef Food Safety"

Cattle producers are looking at every way to make sure the beef that comes from their animals is safe – and that consumers recognize that fact.  According to Dee Lacey, a California beef producer and chairman of the Cattlemen’s Beef Board, those who direct the beef checkoff believe attention to food safety is critical to the industry’s success.

Lacey says irradiation is one tool that is getting considerable consideration by the beef industry.
