Wed., Oct 30 02 -- NFL All Pro Helps Promote Beef

Suggested Lead:

Bill Bergey retains a big presence in Philadelphia, even after retiring as a Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro linebacker.  His popularity helped the beef industry last week when Bergey attended an NFL pre-game tailgate event sponsored by the beef industry that helped show how healthful lean ground beef is.  Before the event Bergey said he was pleased to stand up for beef with Philadelphia football fans.

Cut #1    :13       Outcue: "...cattlemen’s beef industry."

Speaking for beef is comfortable for Bergey.

Cut #2    :11       Outcue: "...beef eater today."

According to Bergey, football fans at the game needed to hear the great beef message.

Cut #3    :11       Outcue: "...and eat lean."

The tailgate event before the Philadelphia Eagles/Tampa Bay Buccaneers game a week ago helped kick off the industry’s participation in the American Dietetics Association convention in Philadelphia.  Numerous industry events were held in conjunction with this effort to further inform dietitians about the healthful qualities of beef.  More than 11,000 health professionals attended the event.
