Suggested Lead:

The American National CattleWomen’s Beef Ambassador program, funded by the checkoff, serves a variety of purposes. Among them is getting children interested in agriculture, according to Bethany Ramsey. Bethany, a young Beef Ambassador from Alamogordo, New Mexico, says Beef Ambassadors have the enthusiasm to reach elementary students with information about the farm and ranch.

Bethany says telling young students about the by-products that come from cows is an eye-opener.

According to Bethany, Beef Ambassadors speak to a variety of audiences, both young and old.

Bethany says it’s important to give audiences a glimpse inside the lives of beef producers.

The national checkoff is managed by the Cattlemen’ Beef Board, volunteers appointed by the Secretary of Agriculture.
