We have some more dust chatter for you this week. NCBA Deputy Environmental Counsel Ashley Lyon sets the record straight on controversy surrounding the regulation of farm dust. She says many are calling attempts made by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to regulate farm dust a myth. She says that’s not at all true.

NCBA welcomes news that EPA is proposing to retain the existing dust standard. However, Lyon said that isn’t good enough. Producers will still be subject to burdensome, scientifically unfounded regulations on dust in the future. The only way to stop the nonsense, according to Lyon, is for Congress to pass the Farm Dust Regulation Prevention Act of 2011 introduced originally by Congresswoman Kristi Noem (R-S.D.) and subsequently by Sen. Mike Johanns (R-Neb.).
