Beef Promotion Operating Committee

Jerry Bohn of Pratt, Kan., is general manager of Pratt Feeders, a 115,000 head-capacity cattle feeding company and personally owns several thousand head of cattle. He is a member of the Kansas Beef Council board and a past-president of the Kansas Livestock Association. He has served on several NCBA committees, including the Executive Committee. He is a former director of market analysis for Cattle-Fax.

 

Jerry Effertz of Velva, N. D., is a third-generation rancher who, with his family, operates Black Butte Acres Limousin Ranch, a stocker/backgrounder and seedstock operation. He is a member of the North Dakota Beef Commission, a board member and former chairman of the North Dakota Stockmen’s Purebred Council, he has also served on several NCBA committees.

 

Steve Hanson of Elsie, Neb., has managed a cow/calf/feeding operation since returning home from the University of Nebraska in 1973. He has been an active leader in Nebraska agriculture for many years. He is a member of the Nebraska Beef Council board, a local affiliate member of the Nebraska Cattlemen Association and a Farm Bureau member.

 

 

Cevin Jones of Eden, Idaho, is president/CEO of InterMountain Beef, a family-owned and operated feedlot business. He has served as chairman of the Idaho Beef Council, and has held leadership positions in other Idaho agriculture groups. He was NCBA Federation Region V vice president for three years and is a former board member of the U.S. Meat Export Federation.

 

Irv Petsch of Meriden, Wyo., is a third-generation rancher who, with his family, operates the Y6Ranch in Southeast Wyoming. He has extensive volunteer experience with numerous livestock and agricultural organizations and is currently an ex-officio member of the Wyoming Beef Council. He has held leadership positions, as a Federation Region V vice president and as a member of the Federation and NCBA Executive Committees.

 

Linda Joy Stovall of El Campo, Texas, is a commercial cow/calf operator with extensive volunteer and leadership experience at the local, state and national levels. She has served on the Cattlemen’s Beef Board and was chairman of the Joint Advertising Committee. Stovall has also chaired committees for the Texas Beef Council, the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association and several others.

 

Sid Viebrock of Waterville, Wash., owns and operates a commercial cow/calf and dry land wheat operation in North Central Washington. He has been active in several local, state and NCBA committees. He is a former president of both the Washington State Beef Commission and the Washington Cattlemen’s Association.

 

 

Becky Walth of Glenham, S.D., farms and ranches with her husband in South Central South Dakota and is a director of the South Dakota Beef Industry Council. She serves both on the BPOC and the Federation Executive Committee, and has served in numerous capacities for both state and national programs, including the Joint Human Nutrition Research Committee and the Federation Nominating Committee.
