International Trade

May 2009 is World Trade Month!

NCBA works every day to increase exports of U.S. beef and ensure that beef is what's for dinner on tables around the world.

NCBA sat down with members of Congress and cattle producers recently to talk about beef trade.  The interviews aired recently on  Cattlemen to Cattlemen

Contact your representatives today and tell them why trade is so important to the beef industry!  Visit CapWiz to contact your members of Congress directly.

With 95 percent of the world's population living outside the U.S., exports are the top financial growth opportunity for today’s cattle producers. NCBA continues to fight for increased market access in various international arenas.

We are highly involved in:

  • Improved market access for U.S. beef
  • Pushing for the re-opening of export markets
  • Trade negotiations affecting our livelihood
  • Reductions on costly import barriers to our products

We strongly support trade initiatives that reduce barriers to access for U.S. beef. U.S. cattle producers know, as a result of our investments in technology and science-based animal health and inspection systems, that we produce the highest-quality, safest beef in the world.

The goal of U.S. agricultural trade policy should be to make our product as competitive as possible in the world market.
