Natural Resources & the Environment

U.S. farmers and ranchers are true stewards of the land. For generations, our families have lead conservation efforts across the United States. Cattle producers, as individuals and as an industry, are actively working to protect and improve the environment. We know environmental stewardship and good business go hand-in-hand.

American agriculture is effectively regulated by a wide range of tough federal and state environmental laws, regulations and permitting.  We fight for common sense, sound-science approaches to naturally occurring factors such as agricultural dust and animal manure. We are experienced in managing air and water quality on-ranch and have been utilizing Best Management Practices (BMPs) to manage our farms and ranches for generations. In addition, protecting private property rights is one of the founding principles of NCBA, dating back to 1898.
