2018 NCBA Federation Division Vice Chairman
Laurie Munns is a commercial cow-calf producer form Hansel Valley Utah and serves as the 2018 NCBA Federation Vice Chairman.
Laurie, her husband, Tim, along with two of their sons own and operate Munns Flying M Ranch in northern Utah and Southeast Idaho. Purchasing their first piece of land in 1977, today their operation consists of 14,000 acres, of which 5000 is tillable and 120 acres is irrigated. They raise grass on pastured cropland, dryland wheat, alfalfa hay and forage kochia seed, and run 700 mother cows.
Munns has been active in the beef industry for many years, serving as Utah Cattlewomen president, as a member of the Utah Beef Council and recently as a second vice president for the Utah Cattlemen’s Association. Her past involvement on the national level includes the Board of Directors of the American National Cattlewomen (ANCW), ANCW Education Committee co-chair, Board of Directors of the Cattlemen’s Beef Board (CBB), CBB Executive Committee, Domestic Consumer Preference Committee co-chair, Producer Communications Working Group, and most recently serving on the Beef Promotion Operating Committee representing the Federation of State Beef Councils.
She is also active within her community, serving on the FSA County Committee for nine years, Box Elder County Planning Commission, Utah Ag in the Classroom Projects and Resource Committees. She is an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Laurie and Tim have four children and six grandchildren.
