NCBA president applauds breakthrough with Korea on beef trade
(Audio with Andy Groseta (GROW-SET-UH), president of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association)
Early this morning, the Office of U.S. Trade Representative and the government of South Korea announced an agreement to resume U.S. beef exports to Korea. National Cattlemen’s Beef Association President Andy Groseta, a rancher from Cottonwood, Arizona, thanked the Bush Administration and key members of Congress for their diligent efforts to regain full, viable access to this critical beef export market.
Groseta personally visited South Korea in February, and he says Korean consumers are very anxious to have access to U.S. beef.
He added that the results achieved in this agreement would not have been possible if not for the steadfast, grassroots support of cattlemen throughout the nation, who demanded fair treatment from this key trading partner.
