Beef Cutting-Edge Products Featured At 1998 Cattle IndustryCentennial Convention And Trade Show

DENVER, Feb. 3, 1998 – The latest in technology, information, products and services to provide beef producers with a competitive edge will be available at the 1998 Cattle Industry Centennial Convention and Trade Show, held Feb. 4-7 in Denver.

During the three-day Trade Show which begins on Feb. 5 at the Colorado Convention Center, more than 275 progressive companies representing all sectors of the beef industry will showcase their latest innovations to help cattle businessmen maintain a professional advantage. Featured products include animal health products, feed products, equipment and management services to cattle producers.

"This is the best place for beef producers to see the latest technologies, information, products and services that are available to help them improve their bottom line," said trade show manager Jodie Hickman. "It’s also our largest Trade Show ever, celebrating the Cattlemen's Centennial."

Producers who visit the Trade Show can also take advantage of a full schedule of educational events, including a Cattle-Fax session on putting together a more complete and profitable marketing and management plan, as well as seminars on nutrition, genetics, reproduction, forage/range management, animal health, management and facilities. The seminars are offered through the Cattlemen’s College continuing education program. For more information, please call 303-694-0305.

The Trade Show will celebrate the Centennial theme of "Our Legacy: the Land, the Family, the Cattle" with special events designed to educate and entertain. Beginning Thursday, new beef products will be featured for lunch in the Trade Show. The Trade Show Extravaganza on Friday evening will provide an excellent opportunity to meet friends, as well as learn what the beef industry is doing to build consumer demand. Finally, Saturday's Birthday Party will be a celebration of beef industry heritage.

Trade Show admission is free to convention registrants. Visitors may also register on-site for the Trade Show for a one-day admittance fee of $25.

The Cattlemen's Beef Board and the National Cattlemen's Beef Association will also have booths at the Trade Show featuring general information and program materials along with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to purchase merchandise commemorating the Cattlemen's Centennial. Other highlights include daily announcements of prizewinners and Superior Livestock's video cattle auctions on Thursday and Friday.

The Cattlemen's Beef Board administers the national beef checkoff. This 111-member board is appointed by the Secretary of Agriculture to oversee the collection of the $1-per-head checkoff, to certify state beef councils, to implement the provisions of the Federal order establishing the checkoff and to evaluate the effectiveness of checkoff programs.

Initiated in 1898, the National Cattlemen's Beef Association (NCBA) is the national marketing organization and trade association for America's one million cattle farmers, ranchers and feeders. With offices in Denver, Chicago and Washington, D.C., NCBA is a consumer-focused, producer-directed association representing the largest segment of the nation's food and fiber industry.
