National Cattlemen’s Foundation Hosts Western Art Show and Sale

Denver (Jan. 20, 2005) -- A group of America’s most prominent Western artists will be presenting their work at the Cattlemen’s Collection art show and sale February 2-5 in San Antonio, Texas, in conjunction with the 2005 Cattle Industry Annual Convention.  The four-day event, organized by the National Cattlemen’s Foundation (NCF) and the Stewart Gallery of Scottsdale, Ariz., will feature 16 nationally and internationally renowned artists.  Each artist has volunteered to donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of their artwork to the National Cattlemen’s Foundation, whose mission is to preserve the rich heritage and promote the future of the cattle industry through research and education.

All 16 artists will be in attendance to meet guests and discuss their work, which will include bronze sculptures, oils, pastels, pencil sketches and photography.  Featured artists from around the nation are Sherry Blanchard-Stuart, Brent Flory, Hal Stewart, Roger Archibald, Shawn Stewart, Dennis Gallagher, Bonnie Conrad, Tom Dohr, Austin Duel, Don Dane, Curt Mattson, Rick McCumber, Jason Skull and Darryl Willison.

“These artists are committed to the future of the cattle industry and the rural way of life,” said Bob Josserand, NCF chairman and a cattleman from Hereford, Texas.  “By donating a portion of their proceeds to the National Cattlemen’s Foundation, the artists are supporting the research, education and leadership development conducted by the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.”
