Lyons cited President Bush’s commitment to private property rights, and to minimizing government interference in the livestock industry, as major reasons for NCBA’s endorsement.

Lyons also cited NCBA’s strong relationship with the current congressional leadership as another reason for optimism in the cattle industry.

Looking toward the future, Lyons emphasized the need for a united livestock industry to work closely with both political parties in implementing progressive agricultural policies that enhance producer profitability.
