Oct. 14, 2004 - Dietitians Get Close and Personal with Beef
Dietitians didn’t just hear about beef at the American Dietetic Association Conference in Anaheim, California, last week. They also had a chance to experience some of the best beef has to offer. Mary Young, executive director of nutrition for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, says checkoff-funded educational sessions explaining why beef is so good for consumers was just part of the experience for the nutrition professionals.

According to Young, the cream of the crop were at this evening event.
Cut #2 :31 Outcue: "...great tasting beef meal."
Young says the beef checkoff doesn’t only focus on this event when it comes to working with dietitians.
Cut #3 :45 Outcue: "...to food and nutrition."
The beef checkoff has been involved in the ADA conference for many years because it is the most important event for nutrition professionals. Nearly 7,000 individuals attended the 2005 Annual Meeting.
The National Beef Checkoff Program is administered by the Cattlemen’s Beef Board, a group of 108 beef producers from across the country, and was created in the 1985 Farm Bill. Oversight is provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
