"Temple Grandin" Gets 15 Emmy Nominations
DENVER - The nominations for the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards were revealed last week, and HBO's biopic about Colorado State University animal scientist Temple Grandin received 15 nominations, including one for Clare Danes's portrayal of Grandin, two supporting-actress nods for Julia Ormond as Temple's mother and Catherine O'Hara as Temple's aunt, supporting-actor recognition for David Strathairn as a sympathetic teacher, and nominations for writing, directing, and best made-for-TV movie.
Grandin is recognized worldwide for her work in animal handling and is the author of several books including Emergence: Labeled Autistic, Thinking in Pictures, and Animals in Translation.
The Emmys will be awarded Aug. 29 in a ceremony broadcast on NBC.
