NCBA Supports Action, "Proves Food Safety System Works"

WASHINGTON (June 22, 2017) - National Cattlemen’s Beef Association President Craig Uden today issued the following statement regarding the announcement by U.S. Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue that the U.S. Department of Agriculture is placing a ban on the import of fresh beef from Brazil:

“NCBA supports the action taken by Secretary Perdue to suspend fresh beef imports from Brazil. This action is the result of USDA’s strong, science-based testing protocol of imported beef and this proves that our food safety system works effectively. NCBA supports USDA’s commitment to science-based trade and its commitment to keeping our food supply as safe as possible.”

"NCBA is on Capitol Hill...

...taking care of our needs while we are out in the fields taking care of our animals and our land."
