“Communication Techniques Key for Young Producers: Fredenburg”

(Trent Fredenburg (FREDunburg) is a cow/calf producer from Greenfield, Ind., and a member of NCBA and the Young Producers’ Council.)

A Young Producers’ Council created by the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association is reaching out to young people ages 18 to 35. This Council will be able to place a member on each of NCBA’s policy committees, and provide a platform for young people to express their views and share information on challenges and opportunities.

Trent Fredenburg a cow/calf producer from Greenfield, Indiana and NCBA member, says young people in the industry utilize different communications methods when it comes to sharing information.

Fredenburg says a popular web site called Face Book is already starting to bring together young producers to share their stories.

Cut  #2:       :21        Out cue: “… available to them.”

According to Fredenburg, who is a member of the YPC, old methods of communicating with this young audience shouldn’t be ignored. But special attention should be paid to the needs of this new audience.

Cut  #3:       :25        Out cue: “…solutions to those problems.”

Beef producers can find out more about the Young Producers’ Council on the NCBA Web site at www.BeefUSA.org/ypc.
