Tues., Nov 05 02 -- Conference a Wealth of Beef Information for Dietitians

Thanks to the beef checkoff, dietitians had an opportunity to beef up their nutrition information during the recent American Dietetic Association annual conference in Philadelphia. The meeting featured a significant amount of information on beef, according to Mary Young, a registered dietitian and executive director of nutrition for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.

Young says a checkoff-funded booth at the event also was of tremendous interest to the dietitians.

The ADA Annual Conference in late October, and allowed the industry to showcase new USDA data – made possible through the beef checkoff – that shows lean ground beef to be a nutrient-packed product that stacks up well against ground turkey.
