Environment
Established in 1991, the National Cattlemen's Beef Association's Environmental Stewardship Award Program provides an opportunity for the beef industry to showcase the stewardship and business practices that work together on progressive farms and ranches. While the program highlights industry stewardship, it also provides cattlemen with examples and ideas which may be useful on their own farms and ranching operations.
Cattlemen were among the first to recognize the importance of conservation and caring for the land, water and wildlife. Properly managed cattle production is an excellent example of sustainable agriculture and is efficient in the use of land, water and energy.
